UPCOMING ELECTION INFORMATION

Primary Election May 2, 2017

PETITION FILING

Petitions are available for the following offices: 

Steubenville City Mayor, Member of Council-2nd, 4th, and 6th Wards 

Toronto City - President of Council, Treasurer, Member of Council-At-Large (3 to elect), Member of Council-1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wards

Mingo Jct Village Treasurer, Member of Council (2 to elect)

The deadline for filing Declaration of Candidacy Petitions for Partisan Candidates and Local Questions and Issues is February 1, 2017 by 4 p.m.

The deadline for filing Declaration of Intent to be a Write-In Candidate is February 21, 2017 by 4 p.m.

The deadline for filing Nominating Petitions for Independent Candidates is May 1, 2017 by 4 p.m.

VOTER REGISTRATION

The deadline for voter registration is April 3, 2017 at 9 p.m.  The Board Office will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. for the deadline. 

ABSENTEE VOTING

Absentee voting will begin for all Military and Overseas Civilians no earlier than March 18, 2017.

Absentee voting for all others will begin no earlier than April 4, 2017.  

Applications by mail for absentee ballots must be received by the Board of Elections no later than Saturday, April 29, 2017 by noon.

Extended office hours for voting:

Tuesday, April 4th through Friday, April 21st - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday Friday only)

Monday, April 24th through Friday, April 28th 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, April 29th 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, April 30th - 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Monday, May 1st - 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (In office absentee voting ends)

All in-country absentee ballots must be received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted Election Night or postmarked with a date not later than May 1, 2017 to be counted for the official canvass.
